Raccoon

Raccoon

Measuring 24-38 inches in length, 12 inches tall and average weight between 14-25 lbs. The Raccoon is a pesky nuisance wildlife animal that can cause destruction to your home or business. Found often getting inside attics, crawlspaces and under decks and sheds. The Raccoon is easily identified by its grey color coat, black mask on its face and 4-6 black rings along the tail. Extremely smart and with dexterous front paws, it can get out of some style of live traps if not set properly. Although they look cute, they can be extremely territorial and even attack if cornered, especially if they have young. A female Raccoon has on average 1-6 baby kits in a litter. Most raccoons are independent around a year old. They live alongside loosely with other raccoons for protection and travel up to 18 miles to forage for food. In urban areas they typically stay within a mile of their den and often are caught rummaging through trash cans and stealing pet food off decks and porches.
